Vinita Dasgupta

Vinita Dasgupta is an upcoming contemporary Indian painter born to a Bengali family, sometimes known as ‘The Story teller’, and today considered an important woman painter of 21th century India, whose name stands at par with that of the other talented artists of India; she is also one of the ‘most expensive’ woman painter of India.

She spent most of early childhood in different states. Parents guided her by critiquing her work since childhood and gave her an academic foundation to grow on. they also instructed her to use common people as models. She has also learnt classical singing and dancing. In 1998 her family moved to New Delhi for higher studies, soon began learning painting and fashion designing professionally. Though she was already painting since the age of five she formally started learning painting at age eighteen. She completed Masters in Fine Arts from College of art ,New Delhi in 2008, and working as an independent galleries with national and international galleries and curators.

Awarded « Art for social change award » from United Nations Population Fund-India, New Delhi 2008.Awarded National Scholarship in Painting by Ministry of Culture, HRD for 2yrs from 2009-2011,New Delhi.Painting selected & exhibited at the International Painting competition organized by Château des Réaux,France, February 2009.She got special recognition and awards by Sahitya Kala parishad, AIFACS, ICRC, UNESCO, Lalit Kala and many more.
